INTRO

Re-Start-up Marathon aims to provide a platform for social gathering and to create business ideas to re-build and achieve sustainable economic recovery at the community level through increasing entrepreneurship opportunities. The Start-up Marathon consists of a 48-hour marathon to develop innovative business ideas which can contribute to the recovering local economy at the community level, such as public market, and landmark restaurants and cafes. This event is open to everybody who is interested in entrepreneurship in Libya. The marathon will start on Friday evening and last until Sunday evening. Vulnerable and conflict-affected participants, including Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), returnees, women, youth, migrants and refugees, will work together to develop their business ideas in cooperation and harmony. The panel consist of existing private companies that are interested in funding the ideas, stakeholders, and UNDP. During the Re-Start-up Marathon, the participants receives some business development training to further improve their business ideas, enrich them and turn them into reality. Business ideas that are identified and selected at the end of the Marathon will be technically and financially supported during the business development process.
